Many television series fans collect gadgets, posters or display items. Nikki Adams, a content creator from Alabama who is passionate about do-it-yourself, has instead decided to take a decidedly more ambitious step: transforming her kitchen into an almost identical replica of that of Springfield’s most famous family.
The idea was born from the strong nostalgia that binds her to The Simpsonsa program that accompanied his childhood. As a child she enthusiastically awaited the airing of the Sunday episodes and, years later, she decided to pay homage to that memory by transforming one of the main rooms of her house into something that seemed to come directly from the famous cartoon created by Matt Groening.

Three months of work and obsessive attention to detail
The project was not limited to some simple decorative interventions. Nikki faced a real complete renovation, which lasted about three months and was carried out step by step to avoid feeling overwhelmed by the amount of work necessary. To obtain the desired effect he repainted walls, furniture and appliances, looking for shades as close as possible to those seen in the series.
The kitchen cabinets were painted the signature bright purple, complemented by pink trim. The fridge, oven and freezer have been transformed with a bright green shade, while the dishwasher and worktop recall the blue shades of the original environment.
The floor has also been completely redone with the classic yellow and blue checkered pattern. Each element has been designed to faithfully reproduce the atmosphere of the Simpsons’ house, without sacrificing the owner’s personal tastes.

The corn curtains and other captivating details
However, what really makes the difference are the numerous thematic accessories scattered around the room. Among Nikki’s favorites are the famous curtains decorated with corn cobs, which she herself considers the most successful detail of the entire project.
There is also no shortage of carpets reproducing the iconic pink donuts loved by Homer, personalized knobs for the cabinets, wall decorations and small puppets of the protagonists placed near the windows. The creator is also continuing to enrich the room with new details, including the reproduction of Lisa’s famous report card on the refrigerator.
During the work Nikki learned completely new techniques, from the application of the vinyl used to cover the appliances to the creation of the resin surfaces of the worktops. A demanding experience, with nights spent working until three in the morning, but which gained over 200,000 followers on social media. Today, for her, The Simpsons they are no longer just on the television screen: they are part of his everyday life.
