Journalists Nell’Erba are back: if you are under 29, take part in the competition dedicated to young reporters

The gNe, i. are back Journalists In The Grass. Very young and very young people who practice active citizenship for sustainable development, analyze environmental issues, use non-main stream means of communication, simplify technical terms with a naturally informative language and become the media themselves.

The XVI edition of the award Journalists Nell’Erba, Paola Bolaffio international environmental journalism awardinvites young people aged 3 to 29 to talk about innovative solutions to tackle climate change. This year’s theme, Adaptationfocuses on the need to adapt to an era of profound transformations, overcoming the climate crisis through sustainable tools. Awareness of a rapidly evolving world requires concrete actions, overcoming political delays and focusing on science, research and social innovation.

The theme

We are in crisis: climate. We will exceed the target of 1.5°C of temperature increase compared to pre-industrial levels: we are living in a world in the midst of epochal change. Although getting out of this crisis will require evolutionary efforts, as in every historical period of great upheavals, we will come out of it better. Scientists, makers, entrepreneurs, philosophers, sociologists, anthropologists, economists, educators, journalists and, why not, even young minds, are right now working to find solutions that are fair, concrete, fair and sustainable for everyone. Research, innovation and social practices must come together to create new eco technologies that leave no one behind. Today’s young people will be the actors of tomorrow, and science and information will be crucial to winning the climate challenge. The Journalists Nell’Erba want to combine all this to build a better future: search, investigate, find new proposals and solutions to adapt to the climate crisis and readjust them, making them usable for everyone through new innovative information tools.
