So much fear tonight November 9th, around 2, when a earthquake Of confirmed magnitude equal to 3.8 it hit Molise, in particular in the Montecilfone area, in the province of Campobasso, about 20 kilometers from Termoli. Frightened people poured into the streets but no intervention by the Fire Brigade it became necessary.
As reported by theNational Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV), at 2.00 on 9 November an earthquake of magnitude 3.8 was recorded 6 km south of Montecilfone (CB), approximately 18 km deep. In addition to Moltecilfone, 6 other municipalities are located within 10 km of the epicenter, and quite a few inhabitants were woken up by the earthquakebut fortunately without injuries or damage.
The shock could be due to same fault that hit the area on 14 and 16 August 2018but the investigations are still ongoing.
