If you love the colors and flavors of autumn, if you want to spend an open day with your children and friends, experimenting with some life of the fields, then the Fattoria della Pumpkin of Genzano, in the village of Pineto, is the place for you.
As soon as I arrived and my children were welcomed by a festive and familiar atmosphere. The farm, with its typical pumpkin patch inspired by the American pumpkins, is a jewel, where to walk among hundreds of colored pumpkins, ready to be chosen and transformed into frightening Jack O’lantern or in nice centerpiece to decorate your home with an autumn and original touch.
In the decoration and carving workshops of pumpkins, armed with brushes and colors, the children were able to express all their creativity, transforming the pumpkins into real works of art. But it is the field of “pumpkin patch” the highlight of the visit. An immense expanse of pumpkins of all shapes and color, where the children were able to choose their favorite and take souvenir photos.
On the pumpkin farm there is also a lot of space to play and have fun. The games built in wood and with natural materials, such as the path of balance, the pulley, the labyrinth and the large slide with the bags of Iuta have captured the attention of my children for hours. There is nothing better, in fact, than seeing the children run free and happy in an agricultural field, between bales of hay and dry leaves.
The farm is also an opportunity to learn. We discovered the many varieties of pumpkins on the farm and their different uses. Between one pumpkin and another, we took many souvenir photos in a set set up for the occasion, bringing home a piece of this magical experience.
