Eighty euros every two months for shopping, pharmacy and electricity and gas bills. It is the Purchasing Card, created in 2008 and also renewed for 2026. From 1 January 2027 the amount remains the same, but the ISEE and income limits increase, which follow ISTAT inflation every year.
How much does the roof grow
The official data is not yet available. In the Bank of Italy’s projections from last July, average inflation in 2026 would stop at 3.1%, and the simulations start from a hypothesis of 3%. Today the ISEE must be less than 8,230.81 euros, with a 3% increase the threshold would rise to 8,477.73 euros. For those over 65, income also counts. Pensions and welfare payments, added to other income, must remain under 8,230.81 euros, which become 10,974.42 from the age of 70 and over. Therefore, with the same adjustment you would arrive at 8,477.73 and 11,303.65 euros.
The requirements that do not change
The audience does not change: elderly people aged 65 and over and parents of children under three. For everyone, the movable assets registered in the ISEE cannot exceed 15 thousand euros, and one cannot be the owner (with a share of at least 25%) of more than one house, nor of more than 10% of non-residential properties. Let’s see the differences. Families with young children can have up to two cars, two gas utilities, one domestic electric and one non-domestic. Elderly people over 65, alone or with their spouse, are allowed one car, only one home electricity connection and one gas connection.
The question
Anyone who already receives the card and maintains the requirements does not have to do anything, as recalled by the MEF in January, while new applicants will have to go to the post office with the ministry form. The ceiling, in practice, moves by 247 euros, enough, perhaps, to bring back some families who were left out for a few pennies.
