Salmonella is still at the center of food recalls. Five days later (the recalls report the dates of October 23rd and 28th, even though they were only published on the 29th) two notices arrived that have nothing in common, except the bacterium. The first concerns a carton of fresh eggs, the second a jar of extra blueberry jam. In short, two different products from different companies.
Latteria Chiuro eggs
The October 23 notice concerns fresh free range eggs in category A, size M, sold in packs of six under the Latteria Chiuro brand. They are marketed by Latteria Sociale di Chiuro SCA. Production, however, is carried out by La Quercia Società Cooperativa Sociale, in the factory located in Prescat 1 in Mese, in the province of Sondrio (identification mark ITK034XUE).

There are several lots involved: L 241026, 251026, 261026, 271026, 281026, 291026, 311026, 011126, 021126, 031126, 041126, 051126, 071126, 081126, 091126, 101126, 111126 and 121126. Expiration dates range from October 24 to November 12, 2026.
Cascina Balcarino jam
The second recall, dated October 28, concerns the Cascina Balcarino brand blueberry extra jam, in a 340 gram jar. In this case, the manufacturer and the brand owner coincide. This is Cascina Balcarino by Manfredini Gianmarco, with a factory in via Castelbarco 53 in Orzinuovi, in the province of Brescia.

The affected lot is indicated with the date 03/30/2026 and the expiration is 03/30/2029.
Because they were recalled
For eggs the warning speaks of the presence of Salmonella Enteritidisone of the most widespread serotypes. For jam the text is more generic and indicates the presence of salmonella in the product, without specifying the serotype.
What to do in case of purchase
The indication is the same for both products: they must not be consumed and must be returned to the point of sale where they were purchased. For the jam, the notice does not contain contact details, so the only reference remains the shop where you purchased the product.
