If there had not been the total eclipse of the Moon to “steal the scene”, the undisputed protagonist of this month would have been the Planet Saturno, which reaches the opposition on September 21 – writes the UAI – as the opposition to the sun is known determines the best conditions of observability of the planet. Saturn will be visible for the entire duration of the night, from its rising to the East at the beginning of the evening and reaching the culmination to the south in the central hours of the night. It will also be found at the slightest distance from the earth and therefore will appear with the utmost brightness, while observation with the telescope, reaching the largest apparent dimensions, we will be able to admire the rings to the best, which however in this period, being oriented, appear very subtle
In particular, the minimum distance of the planet to its Perigeo (i.e. the point of greatest approach to the earth) is of 8,547 astronomical unitsequal to 1,278,577,000 km (on the map the Heaven of September 21, 2025 at about 22.30).
And it does not end here, because Saturn will also be the protagonist of another event, the transition to another constellation: finished the path in Fishslowly moving with retrograde motion, on September 29 it will be again in the constellation ofAcquarium.
