But which, unfortunately, are the cause of deaths among the scared animals and sometimes, also injured and human victims. Roma Capitale approved it final stop from 1 December to 31 January. Will a law be enough to really change things?
New Year’s barrels and prohibitions
The notorious fireworks with which the new year is greeting all over the world are actually formally prohibited in many cities, including Rome, but this prohibition in essence was not never respected and the controls were zero.

In 2024 there were 274 injured, with a 52% increase compared to 2023with a woman of Afragola (Naples) deceased due to a stray bullet.
What will change to Rome now (if something changes)
In the capital, today, it was decided to approve one final stopalways in force from 1 December of each year to 31 January of the following.
