Strong earthquake in Calabria during the night, as the situation really is

No, no injuries and no damage at the moment due to the strong earthquake that shook the earth in Calabria tonight, between 1 and 2 June, with its epicenter off the coast of Cosenza. The earthquake, in fact, with a confirmed magnitude of 6.1 (considered medium-strong) and distinctly perceived not only throughout the affected region, but also in the surrounding ones, was recorded at a depth of 255 km, which probably protected the territory from important consequences. For now “just” a lot of fear.

As reported byNational Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV), the shock was recorded exactly on June 2nd at 0.12 am Italian time, with an epicenter in the north-western Calabrian Coast (Cosenza) and a depth of 255 km. The latter is the data, according to experts, which saved the area from significant damage and victims.

The situation, however, remains under constant monitoring by the competent authorities and rail traffic in the area is currently suspended.
