Among the most requested experiences of the Lombardy summer is the sunflower labyrinth of Seregno, in Brianza. Thousands of flowers design an immersive path that invites adults and children to test themselves along natural paths and alleys. The experience also includes the possibility of picking some sunflowers directly from the field, transforming the visit into an activity in close contact with nature.

Where to admire the most beautiful sunflower fields in Italy
Monferrato: golden hills between vineyards and castles
Monferrato, in Piedmont, offers some of the most spectacular views of the season. Here the sunflower fields alternate with UNESCO heritage vineyards creating a unique mosaic of colours.
The areas of Rosignano Monferrato, Olivola, Altavilla Monferrato and Castelletto Monferrato are particularly renowned, while the route towards Cereseto offers one of the most iconic images of the region, with the castle dominating the yellow expanses.
Val d’Orcia: the symbolic landscape of Tuscany
Tuscany continues to be the region most associated with sunflowers. In Val d’Orcia the hills are transformed into a succession of golden fields framed by cypresses, historic villages and stone farmhouses.
Between Siena, Pienza and Montalcino there are some of the most photographed views of Italy, especially during the period of maximum flowering between the end of June and July.
Maremma: sunflowers between countryside and sea
In the southern part of Tuscany, Maremma offers a different but equally spectacular landscape. The countryside around Massa Marittima and along the roads leading to Castiglione della Pescaia are filled with sunflowers creating a fascinating contrast with the Mediterranean landscape.
Marche: yellow expanses between Senigallia and the Conero
The Marche is among the Italian regions with the greatest presence of sunflower cultivations. The countryside of Senigallia, Ostra and Corinaldo offer extraordinary views, but one of the most scenic places remains Sirolo.
Here the yellow of the fields meets the blue of the Adriatic and the green of Monte Conero, creating one of the most evocative scenarios of the Italian summer.
San Floro: the great flowering of Calabria
In the Catanzaro area, San Floro has become a much loved destination for nature photography enthusiasts. The fields surrounding the Mulinum agricultural project are home to over 15,000 sunflowers and during flowering offer a unique spectacle in Southern Italy.
The possibility of picking flowers directly from the field makes the experience even more engaging and authentic.
When to see sunflowers in bloom
Flowering varies slightly based on climatic conditions and geographical area, but generally the best period to admire sunflowers in Italy is from the second half of June until the end of July. In some hilly or mountainous areas the show can continue even into the first weeks of August.
