Perhaps only superheroes will be able to save the planet from environmental catastrophe. And it is precisely with this provocation that six giant robots, over four meters tall, capable of transforming from super sports cars to warriors who defend the environment, arrived at Lucca Comics & Games 2025. The monumental sculptures arise from the collaboration between Scart, the artistic laboratory of the Hera Group, and Automobili Lamborghini, and are made entirely with production waste from the Toro cars.
From carbon fiber to art: the guardians of air, land and water
The project comes to life in the Scart laboratories of Santa Croce sull’Arno and Pisa, where students from the Academies of Fine Arts of Florence, Ravenna and Poli.design (founded by the Polytechnic of Milan) gave shape to the intuitions of Marvel cartoonist Giuseppe Camuncoli. Together with Giacomo Gheduzzi, Camuncoli created the character design of these humanoids inspired by the Japanese cartoons of the 1980s, the ones that made entire generations dream of the very famous transformable robots.
The materials used are bonnets, sides, spoilers, tubes, steering wheels, monitors, dashboards, bumpers, lights and other components, mostly in carbon fibre. As often happens, the details are the real stroke of genius: bundles of multicolored electrical cables became the humanoids’ cardiovascular systems, while the windshield wiper blades gave shape to the hair of Skyrenn, one of the heroines of the group.
The three pairs of robots are distributed in 3 different strategic points of the city, and each has precise characteristics linked to its mission:
The initiative was born from the meeting between industry and art, with the aim of promoting the circular economy through the expressive power of design and imagination.
French Kiss: when the kiss becomes revolution
As for the theme of Lucca Comics 2025, this will be “French Kiss”, a tribute to France and the nere dessinée which celebrates the French kiss as a universal gesture. It is an intimate and at the same time revolutionary act, present in every pop narrative, from cinema to fantasy literature and graphic novels.

The kiss crosses stories, cultures and generations, acting as a narrative detonator: it creates and culminates adventures, reveals secret identities, unites enemies, breaks spells. It builds a space between two people in which anything can happen, causing personal or collective revolutions. It represents a moment of physical and emotional connection, which transforms differences into attraction and opposites into harmony.
This intensity, this attention to connection and care, guided Rébecca Dautremer in the creation of the symbolic images of the 2025 edition. The French artist remembers the festival as “a great celebration of tolerance, freedom, welcome, with lots of people arriving from all over, people very different from each other, who during the festival free themselves thanks to their disguises, the characters they play, their imagination”.
A record-breaking festival: from Asia to Italy, exceptional guests
The 2025 edition stands out for the exceptional number of guests from the Asian continent. As many as ten Japanese manga artists will be present in Lucca, alongside numerous other artists from Taiwan, China and South Korea. For the first time ever, a Japanese comics house will participate: COAMIX Inc, which will also have a space in the monographic dedicated to Sensei Tetsuo Hara, author of the Hokuto no Ken manga, famous in Italy as Ken the warrior.

The tour of the Tuscan city among pavilions, exhibition spaces and events organized in the buildings of the historic center offers the public the opportunity to meet over fifty artists and authors from all over the world. Among the exhibitions scheduled, L’Hexagone stands out, which brings together the works of the greatest exponents of French comics, the retrospective dedicated to Kevin Eastman, creator of the famous Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and ¡Hola, Tex!, with the drawings of the Spanish illustrators who worked on the legendary cowboy created in 1948 by Giovanni Luigi Bonelli. Ample space is also dedicated to the Italian scene, with the preview presentation of Orbit Orbit, the ambitious project between music and comics by Caparezza.
On the thirtieth anniversary of the name “Comics & Games”, the special focus on the games and video games sector is a must. In addition to the presence of the Japanese game creator Hideo Kojima, expected on the last stage of the presentation tour of the acclaimed Death Stranding 2: On the Beach – released on 26 June 2025 exclusively on PS5 -, the festival celebrates three important anniversaries: the fifty years of Chaosium and Games Workshop, as well as the fortieth anniversary of the launch of the legendary Red Box of Dungeons & Dragons. This last anniversary is celebrated through a special new adventure, set in Lucca, which sees the characters from this edition’s poster as protagonists.

The Movies area attracts many fans thanks to extremely important events such as the presentation of the fifth and final season of Stranger Things, with an immersive pavilion in Piazza San Michele, and the preview screening of the film Dracula – Lost Love by Luc Besson. There are also numerous new features in the musical field: artists of the caliber of Elio e le Storie Tese, Omar Pedrini and Max Pezzali are expected at Lucca Comics & Games 2025, who returns to the festival to present his fifth illustrated book, created together with Roberto Recchioni.
