The bodies of the young victims of the Crans-Montana massacre have returned to Italy: a minute’s silence in schools on 7 January

The bodies of the six young Italians who died in the devastating fire that occurred in the restaurant have arrived in Italy The Constellations of Crans-Montana, Switzerland, on New Year’s Eve. The state flight, which departed from Sion military airport, landed at Milan Linate around 12.55pm.

The sixth Italian victim, Sofia Prosperi, will instead remain in Switzerland for the funeral ceremonies in Lugano.

Who are the victims

Sofia Prosperi, the youngest of the victims, was 15 years old and studied at the International School of Fino Mornasco, in the Como area, having lived in Switzerland for some time. She was known for her energy, passion for music and dance, and for her performances on TikTok, where she shared moments of joy with friends and peers.

Achille Barosi, 16 years old, from Milan, was a generous boy, with a talent for drawing and a passion for Lego. His family remembers how he was always attentive to others and eager to do what he could to help those in difficulty.

Riccardo Minghetti, 16 years old, Roman, loved skiing, tennis and studying. His classmates organized a prayer vigil in his honor, describing him as a kind and brilliant boy, whose presence will remain indelible in the hearts of friends and family.

Chiara Costanzo, 16, from Arona but living in Milan, was an excellent student and talented gymnast. His teachers remember his positive energy and his ability to be a role model for all his classmates.

Giovanni Tamburi, 16 years old, from Bologna, and Emanuele Galeppini, 16 years old, from Genoa and a promising player in international golf, were passionate and determined boys, admired by those who knew them for their kindness and rigor in sport and study.

The conditions of the wounded

Furthermore, in Zurich, Switzerland, two other injured Italians are still hospitalized, for the moment judged untransportable to Italy due to their conditions considered very serious.

A minute of silence in Italian schools

A tragedy that cannot and must not be forgotten, especially among the peers of the deceased children. For this reason, on Wednesday 7 January, a minute’s silence will be observed in all Italian schools in memory of the victims. The Minister of Education and Merit Giuseppe Valditara explained the decision thus.
