The fastest train in the world revealed, 400 km/h of speed, comfort and sustainability

It’s called CR450 and it is a high -speed train prototype developed by the China Railway Rolling Stock Corporation (CRRC), designed to operate at a speed of 400 km/he tested up to 450 km/h, designed to redefine train travel.

Comfort, search and luxury

The cabins are more spacious and silent, ideal for resting during the journey: the noise is lower than two decibels than that of the fastest trains. The sessions in Business Class can rotate 300 °: luxury at 400 km/h.

We started to design the CR450 in 2018 and took three years to define the technical specifications, which made it possible to officially start the design in 2021.

To say it is Zhao Hongwei, researcher of the China Academy of Railway Sciences.

Pushing beyond the boundaries was the key to this train. The same designers admitted that they were forced to get out of their comfort zone, rethink the old standards and unlock new possibilities thanks to cutting -edge technology.

New materials

Important studies have also been conducted on the search for new materials. The high -speed train of the brand new generation has carbon fiber composites and magnesium alloys: every attention is paid to obtaining a lighter and aerodynamic train.

Thanks to the research in design and materials, the CR450 reduces aerodynamic resistance of 22% and weight up to 10%. This also involves a reduction in the energy necessary to make the train work and a reduction of the environmental impact.

To reach the speed of 400 km/h, we had to increase the traction force, reduce energy consumption and improve efficiency. We have also introduced the use of magnet traction engines, new structures for the reduction of noise and materials that in the future can be used on other train models.

Continue Zhao Hongwei.

But this train also represents another milestone in the pursuit of Chinese high -speed railway innovation: bringing the best practices globally, bringing cities distant from each other.
