Good news for those who work in the world of education: the renewal of the 2022-2024 school contract has been signed, an agreement that concerns over 1.2 million employees including teachers and ATA staff. After months of negotiations, the agreement reached ARAN and provides for average salary increases of between 82 and 186 euros for administrative staff and between 105 and 177 euros for teachers.
The general secretary of the CISL Scuola, Ivana Barbacci, expressed great satisfaction with the result achieved, underlining that the closure of the contract was “a right choice at the right timeThe new agreement, in fact, allows us to avoid further delays in contract renewals and to guarantee a strengthening of purchasing power starting from the next few months.
Arrears and new allowances: the figures in detail
The arrears will be paid by January 2026, with amounts that will vary depending on the category and length of service. Furthermore, the contract defines an increase in fixed allowances, which go from 204 to 320 euros per month for teachers, while for ATA staff the figure fluctuates between 88 and 109 euros. At this link you will find the tables.
An annual management allowance of 2,972 euros has been set for the Directors of General and Administrative Services (DSGA), thus recognizing the managerial and organizational weight of their role. These increases derive from the resources allocated in the 2024 budget law and in the 2025 budget, in addition to the one-off 240 million provided for by the decree of the Ministry of Education and Merit of 9 September 2025.
Towards the new three-year period 2025-2027: negotiations have already started
With the signing of the agreement, the parties have undertaken the commitment to immediately start negotiations for the three-year period 2025-2027, an important step to keep the contractual times aligned and guarantee faster renewals consistent with inflation. The declared objective, also supported by Minister Zangrillo, is to renew all public contracts by 2026, overcoming the delays that have characterized public sector bargaining for decades.
The CISL Scuola has also obtained that the additional increases provided for by law 207/2024 are allocated entirely to RPD and CIA, thus enhancing the ancillary treatment of staff. An agreement, therefore, which looks to the future, but above all which finally puts down on paper a real increase in salaries and concrete recognition of the work of those who keep the school running every day.
