Choosing the right shower gel is not just a question of perfume or consistency, the skin can in fact react negatively to some too aggressive ingredients present in the formulations. We often underestimate the fact that many products contain chemicals such as parabens, silicones or synthetic preservatives which, although common, can irritate the skin or have little desirable effects in the long term.
Fortunately, there are many alternatives on the market, even more delicate and designed to cleanse the skin without “attacking” it. But what are they? Yuka, the French app that evaluates cosmetic and food products, assigning them a score from 0 to 100 based on the ingredients and the impact on health, has just drawn up a new ranking of the 10 best shower gels.
Let’s find out immediately.
The 10 best shower gels according to Yuka
Yuka is keen to specify that his ranking was made in a totally independent way, without any brand having paid to be included. These are the products entered:
What is Yuka and how it works
Yuka is an independent app that allows you to scan the product bar code to discover its quality: excellent, good, mediocre or scarce. The app uses authoritative sources such as Anses, Iarc and CSC to evaluate cosmetics but for example does not consider the concentration of the ingredients, fundamental to evaluate the real danger of a formula. Furthermore, if the composition of a product changes, the score may not update immediately.
Yuka’s indications are therefore a valid starting point to choose safe and delicate shower gel (or other products), but the final choice should always take into account the specific needs of your skin, as well as the beginning of the product assessed at the moment.
