The TasteAtlas portal has drawn up the ranking of the 100 best cuisines in the world, based on 477,287 ratings made by users on 15,478 dishes in the database. In this article we will talk about the top 10 ranked, of which we will see the score and most famous dishes, and then observe the total ranking at the end.
The Magnificent Ten
Greece
First place for Greece, which obtains a score of 4.60 out of 5 and improves on last year’s third place. These are the most voted dishes, with their scores next to them: Fystiki Aeginas (4.8), Finiki Lakonias (4.8), Kalamata (4.7), Fava Santorinis (4.7), Portokalia Maleme Chanion Kritis (4.7).
Italy
In second place, somewhat surprisingly, we find the Bel Paese, with a score of 4.59. Italy confirms itself as the leader in the sector, despite taking a step back compared to 2023, the year in which it took the lead in the ranking. Here are the dishes most voted by users: Neapolitan Pizza (4.8), Parmigiano Reggiano (4.7), Gianduja (4.7), S. Marzano Tomato from Agro Sarnese-Nocerino (4.7), Pachino Tomato (4.7).
Mexico
Third place for Mexico, which scores a score of 4.52 and makes an important leap in the rankings, improving its seventh position in 2023. Let’s see the most voted dishes: Quesabirria (4.7), Chiltomate (4.7), Camarones enchipotlados (4.7), Chinantla Vanilla (4.6), Chilorio (4.6).
Spain
Spain ranked fourth, with a score of 4.50, which gained 5 positions compared to 2023. These are the dishes most appreciated by users: Jamón 100% ibérico de bellota (4.8), Pimentón de la Vera (4.7), Vieiras en su concha (4.7), Azafrán de la Mancha (4.7), Cordero asado (4.6).
Portugal
In fifth position we find Portugal, which scores a score of 4.50 and drops one step compared to last year. These are the most highly rated dishes on the platform: Jamón 100% ibérico de bellota (4.8), Carne dos Açores (4.8), Pastel de Belém (4.7), Azeite de Trás-os-Montes (4.7), Carne Barrosã (4.7).
Türkiye
In sixth place we find Turkish cuisine, which thanks to a score of 4.50 makes an important leap in the ranking, climbing 9 positions compared to 2023. The most popular dishes are the following: Kahvaltı (4.9), Samsun Pidesi (4.7), Tire köftesi (4.7), Antep fıstığı (4.6), Çökertme kebabı (4.6).
Indonesia
Seventh place for Indonesian cuisine, which receives a rating of 4.48 and drops one position compared to last year. These are the most voted dishes: Bawang goreng (4.8), Siomay (4.7), Nasi padang (4.7), Rawon (4.6), Batagor (4.6).
France
Eighth position was confirmed for French cuisine, with a score of 4.48. The cousins from beyond the Alps maintain the top ten thanks to the following specialties: Miel de Provence (4.7), Châteaubriand (4.6), Saint-Félicien (4.6), Crottin de Chavignol (4.6), Croûte aux morilles (4.6).
Japan
Ninth place for Japan, with a score of 4.47. Compared to 2023, the country of the Land of the Rising Sun leaves the podium and loses 7 positions compared to 2023 (it ranked second). The highest rated dishes are the following: Hamamatsu gyoza (4.8), Wagyu (4.7), Kaisendon (4.6), Chutoro nigiri sushi (4.6), Kushiyaki (4.6).
China
Chinese cuisine closes the top ten, with a score of 4.45, which loses 5 positions compared to 2023. Here are the dishes that received the best scores: Guotie (4.7), Biang Biang noodles (4.6), Dou ban jiang (4.6), Yúxiāng (4.6), Jinxiang da suan (4.6).
