At the top of the ranking
This year Tripadvisor, as part of the Best of the Best Destinations, has drawn up a ranking of ideal destinations for a holiday alone. The Travelers’ Choice Best of the Best is awarded to recognize the highest level of excellence in the travel sector and is given to those who receive a high number of reviews and positive opinions on the TripAdvisor platform in a period of 12 months.
But let’s get to the first three positions in the ranking.
Seoul (South Korea)
The gold medal for solo travel goes to Seoul, capital, cultural and business center of South Korea. In this extraordinary city the skyscrapers stand out on Buddhist temples, creating a suggestive mix between tradition and innovation.
The Korean capital, thanks to the influx of capital coming from the industrial and technological sector, has in fact gradually transformed into a real global city.
Among the favorite places of interest from travelers we find the Memorial of the Korea war, the Soul tower and the National Museum of Korea. In addition, the tea rooms and the shops in the Sapadg district will offer you a taste of the Korean flavors, which you can taste with a visit to the land and museums of the Gyeonbokgung palace.
Kathmandu (Nepal)

In second place in the ranking of the best destinations to travel alone there is Kathmandu. The capital of Nepal is surrounded by a valley rich in historical sites, ancient temples, sanctuaries and fascinating villages. Here unique experiences await you: socialize with the local population and with the animals that wander among the monuments of Piazza Durbar, or join the mountain hikers in the very popular quarter of Thamel.
You can also explore the typical stores in search of the enchanting works of traditional crafts, such as rugs and prints on Nepalese paper.
Cuzco (Peru)

For the third step of the podium of our ranking we move from Asia to the American continent, in particular to Cuzco, in Peru. The ancient capital of the Inca Empire offers the archaeological wonders of its original civilization.
In the roads of Pietra di Cuzco, the pre -Columbian splendors coexist with the Andean Baroque, observable respectively in the palace of QariaCancha and in the church of San Domenico which flanks the Plaza de Armas.
In this high altitude melting pot, between Amerindia and mixed culture, you will find unforgettable treasures such as extraordinary fabrics and lively summer festivals.
Italy is not lacking: Naples present in the standings

If you thought of traveling alone to a closer destination, with pride we see the presence in the ranking of an Italian destination, or the city of Naples.
The Neapolitan capital, two hours south of Rome, is the largest city in southern Italy. Naples hosts some of the best theaters of prose and work of our country, and is often defined as an open -air museum for the presence of numerous historical monuments. Traveling alone helps people to increase the feeling of having greater control over their lives and actions. Not only that. Traveling alone also stimulates reflection and helps in self -discovery.
