In Italy, beekeepers produce an incredible variety of honeys, offering options for all tastes. We go from wildflower to acacia, from chestnut to lime, from honeydew to citrus honey, etc. But which are the best? This year too he reveals it to us “Tre Gocce d’Oro” competition, now in its 44th edition.
Also for 2024, the best Italian honeys were awarded, selecting the products of 439 beekeepers from all regions of Italy.
Despite a difficult season, marked by extreme weather events which compromised the production of acacia, citrus and honey honey in particular, participation in the competition was extraordinary, with 1,220 honeys registered.
In 2024, the jury of experts, made up of 137 professionals registered in the National Register of Experts in Sensory Analysis of Honey, analyzed the competing samples using both physico-chemical and sensorial analysis techniques. Each honey was carefully examined to evaluate its organoleptic, physicochemical and melissopalynological characteristics, allowing us to identify the strengths and areas of improvement for each production.
