This refuge, immersed in the nature of Val Camonica, is looking for a manager: call open until 16 April

At 1,566 meters above sea level, above Lake Iseo, there is a refuge that is looking for someone willing to make it home and work. The Municipality of Pisogne, in the province of Brescia, has published the tender for the concession of the Medelet Refuge, with a deadline set for 16 April 2026.

The refuge and its location

Medelet is classified as a Hiking Refuge (LR 27/2015) and is located in the municipality of Pisogne, in Valle Camonica, along the paths that climb towards Monte Guglielmo. It is a consolidated point of reference for hikers in the area, with 17 beds and around 40 seats. Nothing superfluous, the atmosphere is typical of the Lombard mountains, essential and direct.

The concession

Management is entrusted under concession for the period 2026–2030, with the possibility of extension until 2032. The notice is published on the portal of the Municipality of Pisogne, where all the documents can be downloaded: the public notice, the specifications, the plan of the premises and the application forms (declaration of participation, technical offer, economic offer, contract outline and integrity pact).

The sole person responsible for the procedure is Angelo Giuseppe Venturini. Applications must be submitted according to the methods indicated in the notice no later than 16 April 2026.

A life choice

Managing a mountain refuge is anything but an ordinary job, as you will find yourself having to deal with the harshness of the seasons, between openings conditioned by the weather, supplies on the trail and a continuous presence that few professions require. Those who choose it, however, will be able to work every day at high altitude, in the open air, with Lake Iseo stretching down the valley and the Guglielmo closing the horizon upstream.

The complete notice and forms are available on the website of the Municipality of Pisogne.
