On today’s evening of January 19th, “La Preside” will return to the air on Rai Uno with the second episode. The TV series with Luisa Ranieri is inspired by the story of Eugenia Carfora, head teacher of the “Morano” Institute in Caivano, the symbolic school of the Green Park.
The fiction captures its spirit and social context, even if filming did not take place entirely in the Neapolitan hinterland municipality. In fact, the production chose a larger set map, distributed between Campania and Lazio, capable of conveying a credible and layered story on the screen.
East Naples as the main set of the series
The heart of the filming was Naples, in particular the neighborhood of San Giovanni a Teduccio, in the eastern area of the city. Here, in the area of the Taverna del Ferro, the environment of the border school which represents Caivano in the series has been reconstructed.
The scenes set in the school were filmed inside the “Ippolito Cavalcanti – Liceo Statale Don Lorenzo Milani” Professional Hotel Institute, located in via Lieto, the connecting axis between via Taverna del Ferro and viale Due Giugno.
Jorit’s murals and the urban face of fiction
The images of the miniseries also show one of the most recognizable elements of the neighborhood: Jorit’s large murals on the facades of the popular buildings of the Taverna del Ferro. In particular, the works dedicated to Maradona and Che Guevara appear, which over time have become visual symbols of the area. Murals which, according to urban redevelopment projects, should also be safeguarded in view of future demolitions of buildings.

Filming in Caivano and in the northern area of Naples
Some outdoor scenes were filmed directly in Caivano, an area that for years has embodied the idea of marginality and abandonment in the Neapolitan hinterland. Today the area is at the center of recovery and relaunch interventions, started after the events that marked its recent history, and the fiction portrays this complex passage between past and present.
The set moves to Lazio: Rome, Ostia and Fiumicino
“La Preside” does not remain confined to the South. Part of the filming also took place in Lazio, between Rome, Ostia and Fiumicino. In the capital, some sequences were set at the branch of the “Domizia Lucilla” hotel and agricultural institute, in northern Rome, a case which further broadens the geographical horizon of the series.
