“75 Kg of happiness”: the new comic by Massimo Vacchetta, the vet who saves hedgehogs, will finance the first hospital dedicated to this species

After the best-seller “25 grams of happiness”, the vet who saves hedgehogs, Massimo Vacchetta, returns with another amazing story: “75 kg of happiness” (Sperling & Kupfer), a comic that tells of the encounter with the little hedgehog “Ninna” no longer told from the author’s point of view, but from that of the little hedgehog weighing only 25 grams.

It is already available for pre-order, but will only be published in mid-November, fully illustrated by the artist Roberta Morucci and with the dedication of the Queen guitarist, Brian Mayalso a lover of curls and founder of the Recovery Center in England “The Amazing Grace”, and of the designer Bruno Bozzetto.

The proceeds will be donated to Dr. Vacchetta’s “La Ninna Hedgehog Recovery Centre”, the first hospital in Europe dedicated to this species, where on average around 200 hedgehogs stay, most of whom are in temporary hospitalisation, others in rehabilitation and some disabled people in permanent shelter in external enclosures because they are no longer suitable for living in nature.

The book project, which will be given as a gift to all those who make an offer equal to or greater than 25 euros (the price of the book is 20 euros) at the Ricci La Ninna Recovery Centre, includes four initiatives:

Booking the book is possible from here or via the Facebook page of the Ricci la Ninna Recovery Center.

The book

It is a story as witty as it is touching, suitable for readers of all ages and ideal for schools. In addition to the drawings, an information section has been created on how to help hedgehogs.

The title “75 kg of happiness” refers ironically to weight of the vet as opposed to that of the hedgehog from the first novel. A passionate letter in which Massimo Vacchetta spontaneously and genuinely talks about his dedication towards the weakest and most defenceless, offering a lesson to everyone: lending a hand to those who need it most by creating a chain of solidarity makes this world more beautiful and gives our lives have profound meaning.

For the launch of the comic, a double event was organised, the “Riccio Day”, organized on the dates of 30 November and 1 December at the “Cinema Vekkio” in Corneliano d’Alba, with a very rich lineup which includes an aperitif, two concerts and a vegan lunch.
