Apple is preparing to revolutionize the way people communicate in different languages thanks to one new functionality which will be integrated into Airpods with the launch of iOS 19. This innovation will allow the simultaneous translation of conversationsmaking Apple earphones even more versatile and useful in daily life.
The operation of the system is simple and intuitive: the airpods, connected to an iPhone, they will catch the audio conversation through their microphones. The phone will deal with real -time translation e will transmit the version translated directly into the earphones of the user or, alternatively, he will reproduce it from the smartphone speakers to allow the interlocutor to listen to it. Furthermore A complete transcription of the conversation will be visible on the phone displaymaking the dialogue between people who speak different languages even easier.
When the new function will be available
Although this technology – Google offers a similar function on Pixel Buds since 2017 – Apple aims to improve user experience with reduced latency and greater precision in the translation. Direct integration with iOS and the powerful AirPods hardware should guarantee optimal performance, avoiding delayed problems or confusion in the recognition of languages.
Another interesting aspect is the possible Compatibility with the most dated AirPods models. It is not yet clear whether the function will be exclusive to New generations of earphones or if it will also be made available for previous versions through software updates. Compatibility with the different iPhone models also remains an unknown, but Apple could extend support to a wide range of devices to reach as many users as possible.
The update to iOS 19, which will include this new function, should be officially presented at the WWDC 2025 conference e made available by the end of the year. In addition to the simultaneous translation, Apple is working on a series of improvements in its operating systems, with the aim of optimizing the experience of use and introducing new innovative features.
