From cardboard recycled to felt, from fabric to crepe paper: here are all the materials with which you can create splendid do-it-yourself plants, perfect for those who love nature but do not have a green thumb!
Cardboard cactus
The first material we suggest that you use is recycled cardboard. You can recover it from an old box, draw us over the shapes of the cactus and cut them out with a cutter. After that, paint them in the different shades of green and systems in a vase filled with soil: the effect will be even more realistic!
Felt plants
Felt is also a perfect material to create decorative seedlings to keep at home. Choose sheets of different shades of green, draw the leaves of your favorite plants and fix them to the stems with hot glue. For stems, use thin iron wire, modeling it to taste. Finally, insert them in a pot with a soil to give an even more natural effect!
Fabric plants
If you are familiar with sewing, you can create the leaves of your plants even with fabric in tones of green. Follow the steps of the video tutorial: it is simpler than you imagine!
Crespa paper plants
Finally, why not try with Crespa paper? Take a green strip and cut out the leaves of your favorite plant. Cut the wire in multiple pieces, one for each leaf, and cover it with a thin strip of crepe paper of the same color. Then place the thread in the center of each leaf, slightly fold the sides to give it shape and fix it with the glue. The result will be surprisingly realistic!
