Sony World Photography Awards Open Competition 2025: the winning photos are impressive

Also this year, the World Photography Organization has announced the winners of the “Sony World Photography Awards 2025” competition, at least those of the Open category. The rewarded images, which range from landscapes to wildlife, are more impressive than the other.

Waiting to find out who will be crowned “Open Photographer of the Year” on April 16 in London, let’s enjoy these extraordinary shots.

Let’s start with “Architecture” category Where Xuecheng Liu triumphed with a spectacular air view of Times Square in New York.

Hajime Hirano won the title of winner in the category “Lifestyle“: The photo portrays a shopkeeper immersed among electronic objects in his shop located in the Akihabara district, in Tokyo, known as the most immense electronics neighborhood in Japan.

Yeintze Boutamba immortalized two friends in a bedroom, thus triumphing in the category “portraits”.

Estebane Rezkallah won with an impressive photo of a group of polar bears intent on feeding on the carcass of a whale in Eastern Greenland.

Matjaz Simic has conquered the “Travel” category with a portrait of some shamans in Bolivia, capturing the spiritual essence of this land.
