These are the initiatives that can change the world, as has taught us Peppino Impastato: it is precisely from him that the project starts’Cento Cento Steps‘, promoted by 100 steps network in collaboration with the Center for Volunteer Services of Palermo (Cesvop), theHotel Institute Piazza and other associations in the third sector that deal with specific pathologies.
As reads on the website of Cesvopthe route takes place in Two assets confiscated from the mafiathat of Radio 100 Passi (Italian radio station dedicated to the memory of Peppino Impastato) and the bistrot Carduccitransforming places symbol of illegality into Spaces of social rebirth: so in Palermo a very special restaurant is born, where it will surely eat very well but above all it will be managed by disabled children or in socio-cultural difficulties.
The idea was born from the belief that theinclusion It means enhancement of the differences, making diversity a normality. A socio-occupational insertion path which involves, in a first phase, 16 people with disabilities or other forms of disadvantage that, without this type of support, would risk remaining excluded from the world of work and relegated to the margins of the company
The initiative was presented on 30 May in the context of Palermo Italian capital of volunteering 2025 and to drive the group is a chef who lives the disability on his own skin. With him there are volunteers of the associations, industry experts and support teachers who already follow children at school.
The activity will not only have a fixed place, with the idea of carrying the inclusion message around: for this it will also be itinerant thanks to the use of a food truck.
