2025 blue flags: these are the awarded lakes of Garda Trentino

The lakes of Garda Trentino continue to shine for their environmental excellence. Also for 2025, the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE) has reconfirmed the prestigious blue flags at Lake Tenno, Terlago and Lamar, thus rewarding the constant commitment of the territory in the protection of natural resources and in the development of sustainable tourism.

It is an important result that involves not only the lake basins, but the entire territory of Tenno and the Valle dei Laghi. A success that arises from a collective and shared commitment, focused on environmental protection, social cohesion, cultural enhancement and an economic development respectful of the ecosystem.

Excellence at 360 degrees

The recognition of the Blue Flag celebrates different fundamental aspects: the excellent quality of the waters, the safety of the services offered, the environmental education activities promoted in the area and the conscious management of the bathing areas. A confirmation that testifies to the value of the synergy between local authorities and Garda Dolomiti for tourism Spa, which for years has been promoting an integrated and sustainable vision of these enchanting places.

For Lake Tenno, this result is part of a wider enhancement plan, the result of the collaboration between the Municipality, APT Garda Dolomiti, Trentino Marketing – ATA Garda and various local authorities. The plan defines concrete actions and priorities to guarantee a conscious use of these natural jewels.

A prestigious award at national level

The official award ceremony took place on Tuesday 13 May in Rome, where 246 Italian municipalities were recognized, 12 of which in the autonomous province of Trento, for a total of 487 beaches and 84 tourist landings.
After the 2024 debut, this reconfirmation represents a significant result for Garda Trentino, which continues to stand out for the care of the landscape and the preservation of a unique natural heritage of its kind.

The recognition aligns perfectly with the growing attention to environmental sustainability that guides the territorial strategy of Trentino. Consistency with the principles of the strategic plan of APT Garda Dolomiti and the path started towards certification according to the Gstc (Global Sustainable Tourism Council) criteria confirm the desire to become an authentically sustainable and recognized tourist model internationally.

The municipal administrations of Tenno and Vallelaghi, together with the APT Garda Dolomiti, continue to work tirelessly to keep these high standards. The shared commitment aims not only to reconfirm these awards in the years to come, but also to involve other lakes of the territory in this virtuous path of quality and sustainability.

A result that demonstrates how the protection of the environment, the enhancement of the natural heritage and a responsible tourism development can go hand in hand, creating value for the territory and ensuring the preservation of these splendid ecosystems for future generations.
