The Council of the European Union – which brings together the representatives of the governments of the Member States – has formally adopted the directive for the downgrading of wolf protectionwho transferred the species Canis Lupus From Annex IV to Annex V of the Habitat Directive.
On May 8, the European Parliament had voted in a large majority in favor of the reduction of protection with 371 parliamentarians, against the 162 which instead wanted to maintain maximum protection of the species.
