I am a nutritionist and I show you how much sugar there is really in your strawberry yogurt

The sugar It is not only present in sweets, candies or carbonated drinks, but It also hides in unsuspected products, such as fruit yogurtwhich many consider a healthy and light snack. The basic problem is that we do not realize how sugar we consume daily, especially because we tend not to read the food labels carefully.

In a recent video posted on Instagram, Nutritionist Lorenzo Bellini He wanted to shed light on this theme, showing in a very concrete way how much sugar there is really in a common jar of strawberry yogurt. After reading the label, highlighting the total quantity of sugars per 100 grams (but remember that the jar contains more) has then, balance in hand, weighed the sugar actually contained in the product, visually showing how high the content is.

The result may surprise many consumers: Within a single jar of strawberry yogurt you can also find more than 15 grams of sugardepending on the brand. It is an amount comparable to that of a small carbonated drink.

This figure makes you think, because we often choose yogurt thinking is a healthy and not very caloric choice, while in reality it can contain a quantity of sugars that, added to that present in other foods and drinks during the day, exceeds the dose recommended by the World Health Organization.

Which yogurt should you eat?

To avoid taking hidden sugars, a good alternative is to opt for a natural white yogurt, without added sugars, and enrich it with fresh seasonal fruit. In this way you can better control the amount of sugars present and still obtain a pleasant and satisfying taste, thanks to the natural sweetness of the fruit.

It is a simple but effective choice to improve our daily diet.
