The journey of the three villages in Upper Lazio is a little known path with extraordinary landscapes and historical wealth. An experience of slow and free path, a short distance from Rome, between the Etruscan lands, to rediscover the journey on foot as an opportunity to connection with others and with the surrounding nature.

Characteristics and length of the path
The journey of the three villages, inaugurated on May 9, 2021, offers an immersive experience in the suggestive territory of Tuscia, following the ancient Etruscan paths. The hiking route winds through the heights, cliffs, Forre and Valloni, through bridges and ancient cave streets in the tuff, passing through necropolises, all immersed in a widely uncontaminated nature.

The route is a ring, and has a total length of 20 kilometers, the journey can be completed in a single day, with departure and arrival in Villa San Giovanni in Tuscia, a village surrounded by woods and olive groves, which has ancient roots dating back to the Roman era. Along the way you cross the picturesque villages of Barbarano Romano, home of the Marturanum regional park, and Blera, renowned for the production of extra virgin olive oil and rich in Etruscan, Roman and early Christian history, both located along the Via Clodia.
The path of the three villages is open to all, at a cost of 5 euros, by reservations required by e-mail to walk.freedom@gmail.com. At the time of departure, a brochure will be provided with a map and indications, as well as an area for the attestation of its passage with a stamp. By collecting the stamps in the boards designated along the way, the participants will finally receive the certificate of the Etruscan wayfarer, a symbol of their journey through the history and beauty of Tuscia.
