What will be the mobility of the future in Italy? And who will decide it? The answers will come from Rome, on 16 and 17 September, where the third edition of Eco Festival will bring together the greatest exponents of politics and industry for a decisive comparison. The event, which will be held at the Congress Center of Piazza di Spagna at the opening of the European Mobility Week, promises to be the key moment to define national strategies on the transport of people and goods.
The starting point of the comparison will be the unpublished data of “The investigation on sustainable mobility in Italy” carried out by the Piepoli Institute. For the first time, a sustainable mobility index of citizens will be presented, a solid numerical basis that photographs the real habits of the Italians and that will serve as a catalyst for discussion. It is on these numbers that the proposed interventions and strategies will be based.
The political parterre will see the participation of the ministers Adolfo Urso (companies) and Gilberto Pichetto Fratin (environment), the deputy minister Edoardo Rixi (infrastructure) and the president of the EU Environment Commission, Antonio Decaro. Their presence ensures that the debate translates into concrete addresses, also in relation to the investments of the PNRR, a theme that will be addressed by Fabrizio Penna, manager of the Mase.
The festival will face the most felt technological and cultural nodes with a chest. Francesco Naso di Motus-E will clarify the fake news that still brake the spread of electric cars, while Professor Bruno Dal Chiara of the Turin Polytechnic will explore the potential of hydrogen as an alternative energy carrier. We will not only talk about engines, but of a new way of conceiving urban spaces.
In fact, the focus on cities will be fundamental. A debate between mayors will highlight the good practices already active in the area, while specific interventions such as that of Francesco Ferrini on the urban reforestation and Carla Ancona on the impact of health pollution will inextricably tie the mobility to the quality of life of citizens. The Rome event, in which Enel, Trenitalia and Amazon will also participate, therefore looms itself as an appointment to move from promises to a shared action plan, based on the data and dialogue between all the actors of the supply chain.
