Orders a personalized shirt on Temu, but what is written on the back is incredible

In recent years, Chinese e-commerce such as Temu or Shein have conquered millions of customers thanks to an infinite catalog of products at torn prices. It is now known, however, that poor quality materials are often used, if not toxic, as several investigations have shown in recent years.

There is also the doubt how much attention is really dedicated to orders and customers. To confirm, a curious case comes from New Zealand who makes you smile but also reflect.

The shirt you don’t expect

Courtney Couper, New Zealand mother, ordered Temu a personalized shirt with a cost of less than 4 pounds for her son. On the front he only wanted the name of the child, on the back nothing. Simple, right? Not exactly.

In fact, the system did not allow to leave the field of the back empty. So Courtney wrote a kind message to the seller in English that said:

Dear seller, I don’t want anything printed on the back. I would like the shirt to remain white. Thank you“.

Guess a little? That message ended printed equal on the back of the shirt.

Imagine the scene: in front of the name of the son, behind a papyrus in style “letter to customer service”. A nonsense masterpiece.

Courtney tells that she has remained “in shock”, and then burst to laugh: after all, the shirt has become a unique piece that her son will be able to use at home. Temu, for his part, apologized and reimbursed the entire amount.

Among other things, the woman said that while writing that note, she had almost a premonition. He thought to himself: “IMmagina if they really print this message on the back“. A joke that has actually turned into reality.

Temu’s reply

After receiving the “wrong” shirt, Courtney immediately contacted Temu’s client service, sending photos of the error. The company apologized for what happened and granted her a complete refund quickly. A spokesman confirmed that the order did not respond to expectations and thanked the client for dealing with the situation with spirit, reiterating the “satisfied or reimbursed” guarantee offered by the platform.

In the end, however, the mother could not help but launch a warning: be careful to order personalized products, because behind the screen there is no human that reads carefully, but most likely a algorithm that copys and paste.

Moral (bitter)

The story makes you smile, without a doubt, but also to arise a simple reflection: if not even a simple education such as “leaving the back” is understood, how much can we trust products sold at so low prices?

For a wrong shirt you can also have fun, but when it comes to “more delicate” objects such as cosmetics, children’s games, electrical accessories, etc. It is better to pay more attention.
