Today, September 22, Italy stops for the national general strike proclaimed by the basic unions. Transport, schools, ports, logistics and taxis: mobilization touches every sector, from the public to the private individual. It is a day that concerns everyone, even those who cannot physically participate in the processions in the cities.
But how can it be manifested in favor of the population of Gaza and peace without being present in the square?
Here are some concrete ways to join and make your voice heard.
From home
On your balcony or windows you can exhibit a Palestinian flag. If you don’t have it, get the role of the colors of Palestine: black, white, red, green.
Exponate online with messages and content
Socials are today a fundamental mobilization space. Just share posts, articles, images or testimonies that speak of the situation in Gaza and the reasons for the strike. A hashtag, a story, a phrase can help amplify the message. Or leave your empty profile at least for today.
Organizes or participates in local symbolic garrisons
A large procession is not always needed: even a small garrison in front of its school, university, office or neighborhood is a political gesture that contributes to keeping attention on the topic.
Wears a sign of solidarity
A scarf, a brooch, a ribbon, a flag: bringing with it a visible symbol is a way to manifest in silence, but clearly, one’s adhesion to the strike.

The sense of today’s general strike is not limited to physical presence in the processions. Each person can choose to demonstrate in his daily life, with a small or large gesture.
