Transport at risk on 2 and 3 October: what is there to know about the national strike and on the event in Rome for Gaza

New wave of inconvenience arriving for those traveling. A 24 -hour national strike is scheduled for 2 and 3 and 3 October which will involve both rail and local public transport.

The agitation was proclaimed by the Si Cobas union as part of a wider political mobilization in support of the Palestinian cause, in view of the great event convened in Rome for Saturday 4 October.

Trains strike: timetables, guaranteed bands and companies involved

The railway strike will start at 21:00 on Thursday 2 October and will end at 20:59 on Friday 3 October 2025. It will involve the staff of the FS group, Trenitalia, Trenitalia Tper and Trenord.

There are cancellations and variations for both regional and long -distance trains, with possible repercussions even in the hours immediately previous and following the strike.

The trains already started before the start of the strike will be able to complete the race only if the destination can be reached within an hour of the start of the protest. Otherwise, they can be interrupted in intermediate stations.

Also buses and trams still on October 3rd

To the railway mobilization is added the 24 -hour strike of the self -Rooferrotranviario staff, proclaimed for Friday 3 October.
It also falls within the context of trade union initiatives in support of Palestine and concerns companies that apply the national collective agreement Autoferrotranvieri.
Bus and tram services will also be able to undergo cancellations or changes, including early or subsequent delays and suppressions or subsequent to agitation. There are no guarantee bands for Freccialink services.

Rome is preparing for an event in support of Palestine

The culmination of the mobilizations will be on Saturday 4 October, with the large pro Palestine event scheduled in Rome.
The procession, organized by Palestinian associations, base unions and student collective, will start from 2:30 pm from Porta San Paolo and will reach Piazza San Giovanni.

According to the police station, at least 20 thousand people are expected, but the number could rise considerably. The humanitarian mission of the Global Sumud Flotilla, currently close to the waters of Gaza, is increasing international attention and could recall participants from all over Italy, as already happened during the general strike of September 22.
