What is Salmonella and what the risks are
Salmonella is a bacterium responsible for intestinal infections that can occur with symptoms such as diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, abdominal cramps and fever. The infection, known as salmonellosis, can be more serious in small children, in the elderly and in people with weakened immune defenses.
The transmission takes place mainly through contaminated foods, such as raw or not very cooked eggs, meat, unplugated milk and derivative products. To prevent risk, it is essential to respect the correct hygiene standards in the kitchen, cook food well and follow any official references of the Ministry of Health.
