The life of Leonardo Fanali, 25 years old from Bologna, suffered a sharp braking in July, when a road accident forced him to coma and a long hospital stay. With different fractures and a device fixed to the skull to stabilize the column, the young man had to face a daily battle made of pain, rehabilitation and moments of despair. Yet, from this experience marked by suffering, an unexpected sign of hope has also arrived.

The intake that changes the future
Leonardo worked as a banconiere in one of the Bolognese stores in the ancient vinaio, the Tuscan chain of crushing that has become famous in Italy and abroad. His fixed -term contract was expiring and the fear of losing his job was added to the weight of the disease. Then, the turning point: a call from Tommaso Mazzanti, founder of the company, who arrived while the boy was still in the hospital. On that occasion he received the news that the contract would be transformed indefinitely.
A gesture of trust and humanity
The owner’s decision was an act of great humanity. In a world of work where precariousness is often the rule, this choice represents a countercurrent signal. Leonardo told the rest of the Carlino that he was deeply moved, because the employer believed in him without certainties on his return. A gesture that gave him the strength to look forward, despite the long rehabilitation still to be faced.
The desire to return to normal
The young man dreams of returning to the counter soon to serve crushed, cured meats and wine, activities he loved and that made him feel part of a close -knit team. But above all he hopes to regain small daily things: walks with his dog, a coffee at the bar, the sport he practiced before the accident such as football and boxing.
The road is still long, but the intake has given new energy on its path. While Leonardo continues to fight to return to life ever, the certainty of a stable place accompanies him as a lighthouse on his path. A story that recalls that even in the most difficult moments they can arise opportunities capable of changing the future and present.
