Tomorrow November 14th Italy will live one day of widespread mobilization: students and young people will take to the streets with Fridays for Future And Students’ Union to connect climate issues to school issues, while transport and aviation sectors will fold their arms causing inconvenience in the city and in national travel. The date coincides with Student Day and follows the opening of COP30 in Brazil, factors which amplify the political and symbolic nature of the protest.

The reasons for the student mobilization and climate
The protesters ask for bring the climate crisis back to the center of the public agenda and they demand reforms for one different schoolmore inclusive and sustainable. Fridays for Future reports the absence of the climate issue in national politicscalls for an end to fossil fuel funding and concrete measures – not words – from governments. The Students’ Union, with the slogan “Another school, another world is possible”, points the finger at perceived school reforms repressive and solicits attention to the student’s needs.

Local transport: what happens in Rome with Atac
TO Rome was proclaimed one Atac strike which will take place in two time slots: from 8.30am to 5pm and give them 8pm until the end of the daytime service. During these periods the strike can cause the suspension of buses, trams and subways; in any open metro stations the service of escalators, elevators and stairlifts will not be guaranteed. Important: there are two guarantee bands – i.e. periods in which the service is insured – which are from the start of daytime service until 8.29am And from 5pm to 7.59pm. Outside these windows it is expected that staff can abstain from work.

Strikes in air transport and traffic control
