Suspended psychotherapy: how to donate a therapeutic path to victims of violence (and receive a Zerocalcare reward)

Imagining a therapeutic path that is truly accessible to those who are trying to leave behind a violent situation should not be an exercise in fantasy, but a concrete reality. From this need was born Psicoterapia Sospesa 3.0, a project that aims to make mental health a right and not a privilege, offering free support to women, trans people and minors involved in escape from violence. As in the solidarity gesture of the suspended coffee, the principle is simple: those who can, donate; whoever needs, receives.

56 therapeutic courses have already been started

The initiative, active since 2021, has already demonstrated the strength of solidarity from below: thanks to over a thousand donors, 56 therapeutic courses lasting at least one year have been started. The supports offered range from individual psychotherapy, to self-help groups, to mother-child paths, to workshops dedicated to minors and parenting groups. This therapeutic continuity, often inaccessible for economic reasons, becomes possible thanks to the collective contribution and the growing sensitivity towards the need for accessible treatment for all.

An integrated network that grows stronger

With the new 3.0 edition the project expands, strengthening the networking with the Anti-Violence Centers and consolidating the collaboration between the Limen Association – Popular Center for Clinical Psychology and the Lucha y Siesta Women’s House, organizations that have been committed for years to the protection and support of those who face violence and discrimination. This synergy allows for care that is not limited to the psychological aspect but also considers the economic, housing, medical and professional context, indispensable elements in the path to autonomy.

Donating means making a different future possible

Each contribution allows the activation of a personalized and free path, guaranteed over time and built on the person’s needs. To support the project it is possible to choose different donation bands, some of which include Zerocalcare-branded rewards, including shopping bags, signed prints and tables from previous editions, up to the possibility of receiving the entire collection with dedication.

Supporting Suspended Psychotherapy 3.0 means contributing to a structural change: not only offering therapeutic support, but affirming that care, safety and dignity must not be occasional conditions, but fundamental rights. It is an invitation to recognize vulnerability without stigma and to build truly inclusive spaces, where the possibility of healing does not depend on income but on need.
