Born in Milan on 31 January 1984, Malika Ayane is the daughter of an Italian mother and Ahmed Ayane, a father of Moroccan origins. As she said, her parents met in Morocco in the 1970s, when her mother was traveling there, and they decided to move to Italy.
Raised in the Morsenchio district, on the outskirts, at just 11 years old she entered the children’s choir of the Teatro alla Scala, where she remained until 2001, simultaneously studying cello at the Milan Conservatory.
My daughter
At 21, in 2005, Malika became Mia’s mother, born from her relationship with a DJ she met at the “Le Trottoir” club in Milan, where she worked as a waitress and sang on Friday nights. The story ended soon, but Malika always spoke of her daughter as her greatest masterpiece, raised alone with determination and without regrets.
Illness: no confirmed pathology
Over the years, rumors have surrounded her health, especially during times when the singer appeared to have lost weight. However, Malika Ayane does not suffer from any known disease: she herself has spoken out against body shaming, underlining how women are often the object of unfair judgments on their physical appearance.
Love life
After the relationship with Cesare Cremonini (2009-2010), Malika Ayane married the director Federico Brugia in Las Vegas in 2011, with a civil ceremony in Milan on 1 December of the same year, a marriage then concluded in 2016. From 2018 to 2022 she was linked to the manager Claudio Fratini, with whom she lived between Milan and Berlin. After the end of this relationship, there are, at least officially, no new romantic stories.
The song at SAnremo 2026
For her sixth Sanremo as a big name, Malika Ayane brings an energetic and refined song, entitled “Animali notte”, written together with Stefano Marletta, Edwyn Roberts, Giordano Cremona, Luca Faraone and Federico Mercuri.
Here are the full lyrics of the song:
We are all at peace with each other’s senses
With ours, however, we don’t know what to do
And I’m staying here to get lost
Talking about you
Even in the alleys, very close
We can’t find each other
And I would like to know what you do
But this nostalgia isn’t bad, you know
May we always forgive ourselves
And we are unknown to people
Who will never understand us
You see it, you and me
The road is a jungle
Let’s shoot for the moon
Like nocturnal animals
You and me
Let’s be scary
Let’s find an excuse
To disappear
What can I say
Ignore the word end
That I no longer know who I belong to if you leave
You and me
The road is a jungle
Let’s shoot for the moon
Like nocturnal animals
You know I could wake up with you every morning
And watch the sunrise as if it were the first
Let’s fall asleep in front of a movie
If you want to sleep with me
When you look at me you make chasms
And I don’t defend myself anymore
It’s full of people outside, but you know
That no one will ever understand us
You see it, you and me
The road is a jungle
Let’s shoot for the moon
Like nocturnal animals
You and me
Let’s be scary
Let’s find an excuse
To disappear
What can I say
Ignore the word end
That I no longer know who I belong to if you leave
You and me
The road is a jungle
Let’s shoot for the moon
Like nocturnal animals
I swear to you I don’t know anymore
How to tell you
But as soon as you leave
Lack of oxygen
The sky is beautiful
Give me your hand and we’ll go somewhere
It doesn’t need to be very far away
To disappear
What can I say
Ignore the word end
That I no longer know who I belong to if you leave
You and me
The road is a jungle
Let’s shoot for the moon
Like nocturnal animals
