In an era dominated by compulsive accumulation and frenetic speed, there are those who choose to go against the grain, proposing a return to the essential and a new awareness of the self. Gio Evan, multifaceted artist, writer and “concrete dreamer”, returns to the scene with new projects that invite us to reflect deeply on our way of being in the world. Through the new song “Ma bene” and the summer tour “Extra Terreste”, the artist traces a path that intertwines spirituality, music and an ecology of the soul necessary to reconnect with nature and others.
Celebrate “tragedy” and pain to heal the soul
The path starts from accepting what hurts. The new single “Ma bene” (distributed by ADA Music) explores the need not to run away from difficulties, but to welcome them, using the metaphor of the flow of a river to lighten the burdens of life. When we asked him how the idea of transforming pain into a festive and collective dimension through the rhythm of the tarantella was born, Gio Evan replied:
I had in mind to organize a song to celebrate the tragedy. The idea was to stop fighting against misfortunes and their events, not to deny and not close oneself off in the face of great pain. The masters have taught us that suffering is often fought with dance, all religions and spiritualities, not by coincidence, propose dance steps. Christ lets Hosanna be sung, Gurdjeff makes a religion out of it, shamans include it in every act. In short, I don’t invent anything, let’s say, my originality is just very old spirituality
Don’t avoid pain, therefore, but go through it to reconnect authentically with your deep nature.
Knowing how to give up: the real ecological and social turning point
“Extra Terreste”, the artist’s new musical, comic and spiritual tour, starts from Rome, at the Auditorium Parco della Musica, on 12 June 2026. The show questions the contemporary tendency towards control and material attachment, proposing a real “happy degrowth” of artificial needs.
Regarding the profound meaning of this tour and the need to redefine the concept of “value” in today’s society, the artist explained to us:
I question intention and the sense of wealth. I wonder if the verb to possess is really worth it today. What if true wealth was knowing how to give up instead of being able to afford it? I like the familiarity with the emptiness that I have achieved over these years, in silence and contemplation. I thought it would be good to investigate some aspects hidden in the term “hold”. Sometimes it is possessing, sometimes it is affection, other times it is not a verb, it is a noun: tenderness. There are words, like this, that need – I repeat myself and I repeat it often – “rehabilitation”. If the word “wealth” has proto-Germanic origins, and meant power, dominion, being sovereign, today we must ask ourselves if it is precisely what we mean by wealth that is governing us. Are we sure that we have and are not being held?
A reflection that closely affects anyone who tries to live respecting the limits of the planet, reminding us that true freedom lies in the ability to subtract, rather than add. A sort of friendship pact with the essential.

Evanland: a space for kindness and awareness
This path of sharing will find its natural meeting point on 25 and 26 July in Assisi, on the occasion of the fifth edition of Evanland, the International Festival of the Inner World. In a present often marked by conflicts and divisions, this event presents itself as an oasis of kindness, inclusion and personal growth.
Telling us the spirit of this edition, hosted within the Riverock exhibition, Gio Evan outlined his vision of community:
This festival has become to all intents and purposes, by baptism received from third parties, a gathering of the good. In this place here we practice the authenticity of life, we don’t force it to be the beautiful couple that the world wants from us, but we celebrate and forgive the scratches we have received, and the cuts and paths we have left along the way. It is a meeting where we strengthen spirituality and play. There are meditation workshops, game exercises, obviously conducted by experts in the field. Here in this place, we practice the new civilization. in the Gospel we read about the kingdom of heaven, therefore paradise, is the place that is obtained within us and not a dimension elsewhere. So we have permission to do that here
Practicing kindness, embracing your vulnerabilities and relearning how to play are the first steps to building, together, that “new civilization” that the Earth urgently needs.
Here is the program
Text by Ma bene
I threw out all the air (yeah)
And I slept on the sofa (come on, get up, bro)
I knew how to be alone, yes
But I didn’t know how to feel good
And I wanted to say thank you
Because I left
It’s just that sometimes I didn’t know
If I hugged, I suffocated
And it was a blow to the heart, yes
But the heart is always mine
The shaman said that
If you do the river you’re like God
Which then passes
Yes, but how do you make the river?
For now it’s bad, but good (eh)
And it hurts, but good (oh)
Shitty times, but good (cheese)
How are you? But good
Here everything is bad, but good
I threw out all the air (yeah)
And I spent the time alone (yeah)
I thought it was a party (oh)
But partying here is a job (oh)
And I wanted to say thank you, but (oh)
Now that you’re gone
Bye (bye, bye, bye, bye)
Which then passes
Yes, but how do you make a river?
And now it’s bad, but good (yeah)
And it hurts, but good (oh)
Shitty times, but good (cheese)
How are you? But good
Here everything is bad, but good
For now it’s bad, but good (eh)
And it hurts, but good (oh)
Shitty times, but good (cheese)
How are you? But good
Here everything is bad, but good
And now it’s bad, but good (eh)
And it hurts, but good (oh)
Shitty times, but good (cheese)
How are you? But good
Here everything is bad, but good
