The artistic partnership between overseas animation and the scenic wonders of the Bel Paese returns. After having enchanted the global audience with the atmosphere of the Cinque Terre in the successful feature film LucaOscar-nominated director Enrico Casarosa takes the helm of a monumental project for the Mickey Mouse film company.
Disney and Pixar have in fact released in the last few hours the very first and spectacular teaser trailer for Cata feline adventure with mysterious and ironic hues, entirely set among the streets and suggestions of underground Venice. At the same time, the official release date in Italian cinemas was announced, which will take place on 4 March 2027.

Intrigue and feline underworld in the shadow of the city of the Doges
The plot of the film delves deeply into the urban legends and superstitions that have always surrounded black cats. The protagonist of the film is Nero, a stray feline with a decidedly irascible temperament who has spent his entire life navigating the canals and shaded areas of the Venetian lagoon.
The narrative turning point of the story starts from a dangerous misstep: Nero finds himself heavily in debt to the local feline mafia, a real criminal organization that controls the underground meanders of the city. Hunted by creditors, the protagonist will begin to question his life choices and search for his true purpose in the world, especially after a close and unexpected encounter with an marginalized cat that will radically change his perspectives.
A stellar voice cast from Mark Ruffalo to Laurence Fishburne
The first promotional film distributed on the web showed the first well-finished graphic sequences, focusing in particular on a tense and funny face-to-face during an interrogation. For the original English version, the studios recruited a roster of top-notch Hollywood voice actors.
Oscar winner Mark Ruffalo will lend his voice to the protagonist Nero, infusing the right mix of cynicism and vulnerability to the character. Alongside him, the iconic actor Laurence Fishburne will play the boss Rocco, the ruthless and charismatic godfather of the four-legged underworld.
