There Lazio Region continue to invest in sustainable mobility through a new memorandum of understanding signed with Anci Lazio, aimed at enhance the green and cyclopedonal paths. The agreement, signed by the regional president Francesco Rocca and by the president of Anci Lazio Daniele Sinibaldi, aims to enhance the accessibility of thematic paths (religious, cultural and natural) and to encourage sustainable tourism, while promoting collaboration between local authorities.
The agreement provides for the creation of a coordination table that will facilitate access to European, national and regional funding, guaranteeing more effective management of infrastructure and related services. The three -year protocol has a financing of 196 thousand eurosintended to support resources mapping actions, path certification according to Eurovelo standards and promotion activities.
One of the main objectives is the realization of Five new thematic green pathsone for each Lazio province, exploiting the existing network to optimize costs and improve the connection between the protected natural areas and the surrounding territories. The project will involve the already recognized paths, the CAI paths and other itineraries of historical, religious and landscape interest.
What will be the planned interventions
As for cycle mobility, the protocol focuses on targeted interventions, including the completion of the Tyrrhenian cycle pathwhich crosses three regions and over one hundred municipalities for a total of about 930 km. The Lazio section of the cycle path has obtained funding for over 11 million euros for the creation of two priority lots. In addition, the Reatin cycle path It will benefit from technical support for the drafting of the final project.
Another important investment concerns the Ostia-Colosseum cycle pathfor which 18 million euros were allocated within a larger 38 million plan for cycling. The route, about 30 km long, will connect the historic center of Rome with the coast, integrating with Grab and exploiting existing cycle strokes. There are infrastructure interventions such as cycle catwalks and expansions of pedestrian paths to guarantee a fluid and safe connection.
Finally, the protocol includes Signs monitoring actionscertification of the Lazio Francigena cycle path and promotion through Sector events and fairs. These interventions represent a significant step to make Lazio at the forefront region in sustainable mobility and green tourism.
