Let’s say it right away, all false: there won’t be any coin worth 7 euros in circulation since January 1st, even if the alleged news has been circulating for days, especially on social media (where they also go crazy alleged conspiracies linked to the use of debit and debit cards that would like to “destroy” cash). But where did this one come from? unfounded belief?
Does Artificial Intelligence have anything to do with it?
In reality we have no certainties, sometimes all it takes is for someone with a decent following on social media, sometimes as a joke, to publish a “news” which then, magically, becomes “true”. And certainly the spread ofartificial intelligence now it has made everything even easier.
In this specific case, the alleged 7 euro coin has the same “appearance” as the very common 2 euro coin, only with the number 7 instead of 2, so the suspicion that it is a modification made with AI is more than concrete .
Are there 7 euro coins?
There are currently no real 7 euro coins in circulation. However, some Portuguese coins are found on the website of the Casa da Moeda (the equivalent of ours State Mint) of value of 7.50 euros. But, as always for coins of these unusual nominal values, it is about commemorative coinstherefore in a very limited edition.
However, commemorative coins should never be overlooked, precisely because of their limited edition. Once exhausted, these can increase incredibly in valuedepending on their rarity which, the more time passes, the more it grows.
It is therefore worth keeping an eye on them in the coming months and years.
