Would you like to stay for free in one of the many Italian B&Bs? Use your talent and propose!
Barter Week is back, the November event that has been transforming the way of traveling for years: from 17 to 23 November, hundreds of B&Bs throughout Italy open their doors to travellers, who, instead of money, will be able to offer goods or skills. A unique initiative of its kind, which celebrates the meeting between people and the value of exchange, promoted by Bed-and-Breakfast.it, the main Italian operator in the travel platform sector.
Barter Week is an invitation to travel in a more humane and sustainable way. Every exchange creates a story, a relationship that goes beyond the economic transaction. This spirit of hospitality and sharing is what makes this initiative unique and what unites travelers and managers in an authentic experience every year, says Giambattista Scivoletto, Founder of Bed-and-Breakfast.it.
How does Barter Week work?
Visit weekly.it, explore the list of participating B&Bs or search for your favorite destination. On the page of the chosen structure, fill out the form and propose your barter: from homemade jams to photo/video sessions, from translations to cooking lessons, through live music, maintenance work, gardening, graphics and much more. The important thing is that it is useful and creative!
If the manager likes the proposal, the stay for the agreed nights is completely free. In exchange, you offer your talent, your skills or what you do best, and the B&B reciprocates with hospitality.
Over the years, there have been many goods and services exchanged: from photo and video shootings to renovate B&B websites, to maintenance interventions (painter, carpenter, plumber), to digital services such as social media management or translations. The possibilities are truly endless, and each exchange depends on the usefulness and imagination of the proposals.
Not just one week: Barter Week is concentrated in the third week of November, but many structures are available to evaluate proposals also during the year, when specified in their information sheets.
Every season can be the right opportunity to start a barter!
