He wanted to reach “Punta Uniòn”, a high mountain pass in the Cordillera Blanca massif, the famous Peruvian mountain range, but during the journey the young English traveller, known on TikTok as “El Güero”, lost his group and his orientation.
In a video posted on TikTok, the boy explained that the dog appeared out of nowhere while walking at a high altitude and seemed perfectly comfortable.
– I came across this dog on the second day, as I approached the highest point of the trail – Punta Uniòn – at 4,750 meters above sea level -, he declared.
Almost sensing the traveler’s difficulty, the dog patiently guided him along the paths, leading him to the sign indicating “Punta Uniòn”. Given the poor visibility, the snow and the fact that it was the first time in that place, “El Güero” wasn’t sure he was going in the right direction, but the dog seemed to know the road perfectly, so he trusted.
Once there, the two adventure companions waited for the group to arrive and immediately resumed their journey, all together.

In the next camp there was another four-legged friend who joined the expedition. Both dogs continued to follow the hikers the next day, until they met a third dog.
On the last day the dogs disappeared until hikers found them in a cafe at the end of the trail. El Güero discovered that they came from neighboring villages and often enjoyed joining hiking groups.
A beautiful story fortunately with a happy ending!
