The Ministry of Health has reported two new food recalls due to a possible microbiological risk linked to the presence of Listeria monocytogenes. The notices are for one batch of ready-to-eat rice salad and one batch of Brie cheese.

The rice salad recalled
The first product involved is rice salad sold under the brand “Ready-made salads”, packaged in 200 gram plastic tubs.
The product is made and packaged by the company La Sorgente Srl, in the Pessano con Bornago plant, in the metropolitan city of Milan.
The recall affects exclusively batch 26016, with an expiry date of 22 August 2026. As already mentioned, the reason indicated in the notice is the possible presence of Listeria monocytogenesa pathogenic bacterium that can cause listeriosis.
Anyone who has purchased a package belonging to the indicated lot is invited not to consume it and to return it to the point of sale.
The Brie recalled
The second notice concerns a 60% Brie cheese sold under the “Mon Sir” brand. In this case the product is marketed in 1 kilogram forms and is produced by the French company Paturages Comtois, based in Aboncourt, France.
The batch affected by the food alert is the one identified by the acronym ZUAD2.
Also in this case, whoever owns the product is invited not to eat it and to return it to the shop where it was purchased.

Because Listeria is a risk that should not be underestimated
There Listeria monocytogenes it is a bacterium that can contaminate various foods and which, under certain conditions, can continue to multiply even at low temperatures, such as those of the refrigerator. The infection, called listeriosis, can manifest with gastrointestinal discomfort and flu-like symptoms in most healthy people, but can become much more serious in frail people.
Particular attention is required especially for pregnant women, newborns, the elderly and people with a weakened immune system, categories in which listeriosis can have serious consequences.
