Maxi competition for 1800 places at the Ministry of Culture: everything you need to know

The Ministry of Culture has launched one of the most significant public selections of the two-year period 2025-2026, publishing the notice for the hiring of 1,800 graduate assistants. The new resources will be placed on a full-time and permanent contract in the Assistants Area, strengthening the staff of the state cultural structures present throughout the national territory.

Required profiles and distribution of places

The competition includes two distinct professional profiles. The first concerns 1,500 assistants for protection, reception and supervision, mainly destined for museums, archaeological parks and places of culture. The second profile provides 300 positions as technical assistants, support figures for the protection and valorisation of cultural heritage activities. The work locations are distributed throughout all Italian regions, with a significant presence in Campania, Lazio and Tuscany.

Access requirements and application procedures

To participate, it is sufficient to have a secondary school diploma, together with the general requirements for access to public employment, such as being of age and enjoying civil rights. The application for participation must be sent exclusively online through the InPA Portal, after registering and completing the digital CV. It is necessary to have a SPID, CIE or CNS and a PEC or digital domicile address in the candidate’s name. There is also the payment of a contribution of 10 euros.

The activities planned for assistants

The security assistants will carry out tasks related to the safety of the structures, the control of visitor flows and the reception of the public. The technical assistants, however, will collaborate with archaeologists, art historians and officials in the cataloging, documentation, digitization and conservation of cultural heritage activities, as well as administrative support.

Examination test and deadlines

The competition includes a single written test, consisting of 40 multiple choice questions, to be carried out digitally. The test includes questions on the specific subjects of the chosen profile, logic questions and situational tests. The test is passed with a minimum score of 21/30. Applications are open from 11 December 2025 and must be submitted by 10 January 2026.
