In January of this year, the prestigious winners of the Nature Photography Contest 2024the competition that celebrates the beauty of nature every year by rewarding the most extraordinary images.
A particularly interesting aspect of this competition is its commitment to the environment: each participant is symbolically associated with a tree, and the absolute winner has the honor of choosing in which country to plant them.
The contest is divided into different categories, including Natural landscapes, Wildlife, Macrofotography, Birds And Vegetable life.
For the 2024 edition, The title of “Photography of the year” He was assigned to “Polar Bear Amid Fireweed Blooms” by the Canadian photographer Christopher Lake. The image, which portrays a polar bear immersed in a field of flowers, affects not only for its surprising aesthetic, but also for the powerful message that conveys: a visual contrast that invites us to reflect on the effects of climate change.
While as “Photographer of the Year 2024” we find Thomas Vijayanwhose photographs have been rewarded both for the exceptional technical ability and for its profound appreciation for wild nature.

Turning to the “Natural Landscape” category, we find Stuart Chape with “Glacial Blue”, an aerial view of the waters of the Tasman river that lead to Lake Pukaki, New Zealand.

Steve Marsh triumphed in the “Wildlife” category with the image entitled “Harmony Below”, which portrays a megattera next to dolphins.

Turning to the “Underwater” category we find James Ferrara with “Moby Dick”, a photograph that portrays a huge sperm waters in the waters off Dominica.

“Poetry of Flight” by Saleel Tambe triumphed in the “Birds” category with a flock of seagulls immortalized in a cloudy day.

Avilash Ghosh obtained first place in the “Plant Life” category with the photography “Call of the Void”, which portrays a mushroom called “Dead Man’s Finger” for its similarity with the fingers of a skeletal hand.

Brian Clop won with “Curious About Photography” in the “Funny Nature” category, a fun portrait of a young fox of the desert intent on biting the goal of the camera.
