Oysters end up under recall, and the reason is one of those that, when it comes to raw molluscs, makes the antennas stand up, namely the norovirus. Esselunga has distributed in its stores the notice with which the producer is withdrawing a batch of concave Sardinian oysters under the L’Acquachiara brand, after an official sampling detected the presence of norovirus genome II.
The lot
The product to watch out for comes in 500 gram boxes. The batch number is 26-B1885 and the expiry date is May 28, 2026. These are the two references to check on the package, because the recall only concerns the oysters that contain them.
They were produced by L’Acquachiara Srl, in the Chioggia factory, in via Orti Ovest 1, in the metropolitan city of Venice (IT 560 CSM UE identification mark).
What to do in these cases
The indication, for precautionary purposes, is trivially clear: anyone who has the aforementioned oysters at home, with that batch number and that expiry date, must absolutely not consume them. The product can be returned to the point of sale where it was purchased for a refund.
