In an era in which borders seem to multiply and global tensions are the order of the day, the IT.A.CÀ Migrants and Travelers Festival invites us to reflect on a powerful and urgent concept: the ‘Geographies of Peace’. Now in its XVIII edition, the festival continues in September, extending its tour among the wonders of the Peninsula and the Islands with a calendar full of events dedicated to responsible tourism and community building.
IT.A.CÀ 2026: a widespread journey for sustainability
Born in 2009 in Bologna, IT.A.CÀ has established itself as the first and only festival in Italy entirely dedicated to sustainable tourism and tourism innovation. This year, its XVIII edition takes place from June to October 2026, involving 8 Italian regions. Through walks, excursions, meetings, workshops and shows, the festival intends to enhance the dignity of places, people and their diversity, transforming travel into a practice of relating, listening and caring for territories.
As Sonia Bregoli, co-founder of IT.A.CÀ, points out: “In an era fragmented by conflicts, responsible tourism can become a concrete practice of peace: a way of traveling that respects and enhances the dignity of places, people and their diversity.”
