After two years of recording silence, Rosalía returns with Berghaina song that anticipates the new album LUXout November 7. Recorded with the London Symphony Orchestra conducted by Daníel Bjarnason, the album also brings together voices such as Carminho, Estrella Morente and Silvia Pérez Cruz, in a mosaic of femininity and spirituality.
The single Berghainmade with Björk and Yves Tumor, is an emotional journey between languages and sound universes that come together in a work that is both confession and catharsis. In all, the texts present a selection of 13 different languages: not only the more classic German, Spanish and English, but also Latin, Ukrainian and Sicilian dialect.
A club symbol of freedom and transformation
The title Berghain recalls the famous Berlin club, temple of techno and icon of underground culture. But for Rosalía, Berghain is not just a physical place: it becomes a metaphor for internal catharsis, a mental territory where every emotion finds space. As in the club, freedom arises from chaos, disorder becomes balance, and self-abandonment coincides with healing. It is a place of the soul, where music becomes an emotional language and vulnerability becomes strength.
A spiritual drama in images
But it is in the video clip directed by Nicolás Méndez that the meaning of the song finds its deepest form. The video of Berghain opens with Rosalía entering the house and opening the curtains. Light floods the room, but a statue of the Virgin Mary immediately introduces the central conflict of the story: spirituality versus desire. The house, a symbol of refuge, soon becomes an emotional prison, where the protagonist struggles against an invisible pain. The orchestra that follows her – not a metaphor but a living presence – represents the mind that does not remain silent, the thoughts that play inside her, amplifying the anguish.
Every daily gesture is full of tension: household chores become mechanical rituals, the medical examination an act of surrender. When the singer appears half-naked with electrodes on her chest, the scene reveals the true center of pain: it is not the physical heart, but the emotional one. Neither science nor religion offers answers; the diagnosis is love itself and has no cure.
The subsequent images alternate interiors and urban spaces, where Rosalía continues to be followed by the orchestra, unable to escape her feelings. In a jewelry store she carries her heart in her hand, but no one can repair it: love is neither pure nor eternal. In the finale, the artist transforms into a sort of modern Snow White, surrounded by animals and blood, until she collapses exhausted in bed and her eyelashes become wings. The dove that is born is not white: it is stained, like the soul of someone who has suffered and found freedom in pain.

Berghain it’s more than a video clip: it’s a meditation on human frailty, an exploration of internal chaos that becomes rebirth. Rosalía constructs a visual story in which love, guilt and faith coexist in a dance suspended between the sacred and the profane.
